About

Plebe /plēb/ (pronounced pleeb)
Noun: a freshman at a military or naval academy

Colloquially, a plebe is someone who belongs to society’s lower rungs, a simpleton. While I don’t consider myself to be low-class, I’ll be damned before I squander my dowry on anything with the words “frisée,” “cèpes” or “emulsion” in the description. I'm also against any place where the food:dish ratio is greater than 1:2.

You'll find the reviews on this blog to be mostly positive. That's because I do my due diligence before checking out a new restaurant, market, food truck, hot dog stand, etc. As a Plebe, I operate on a limited budget so I like to ensure that I get maximal bang for my buck. My biggest pet peeve is spending good money on a lame meal. Another is 20-person birthday dinners at mediocre restaurants. Just shoot me.

I pay for every meal myself. If someone else pays, I'll say it. If I get something for free, I'll scream it and dance around with glee.
